Luckily that wasn’t a deal breaker. Chad and I remained together despite me not purchasing the selected clothing items (read our last post for the backstory).
What we discovered next is that the lack of colour variation in fashion was not only apparent in women’s fashion, but also in men’s. I can recall our last visit to Melbourne, the fashion capital of Australia, where we spent hours hitting the shiny new floors of the Emporium – a gigantic shopping centre built in the CBD. The same drab colours appeared in the display windows and not one warm coloured item could be found.
We were cashed up and eager to buy some new threads, but felt deflated after our lacklustre shopping expedition. “Gosh it makes you want to open up your own shop”, we both mused.
